Matare Photography

Matare is a London-based photographer specialising in authentic visual storytelling through portraiture and documentary photography. His work focuses on capturing real people, genuine moments, and the character of the businesses and communities he photographs.

Originally trained in Design at HyperWerk (FHNW) in Switzerland, Matare developed an early interest in identity, craftsmanship, and visual communication. He later refined his technical and commercial skills while working alongside renowned photographer Tim Thiel in Frankfurt before establishing his own independent practice.

Holding an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication, Matare combines a documentary approach with the needs of modern businesses and organisations. Whether photographing a small independent workshop or a growing company, his aim is always the same: to create honest, human-centred imagery that reflects the people behind the work.
